Oil and brakes
Oil and brake checks in Hurricane
We check the oil and the brakes and tell you what we find. The check comes before any parts are replaced. If the brakes need a repair, or the oil level points at a leak, that next step follows the finding.
What an oil check is looking at
Oil level, the condition of the oil, and whether oil is leaving the engine are three different questions. A low reading can be a leak, oil the engine is burning, or a service that was skipped. A stain on the driveway and a burning smell after shutdown are clues worth describing when you call.
An oil service belongs with routine maintenance. This check is how we decide whether the engine only needs that service or whether something else is going on. We explain the difference before any work is sold.
What brake symptoms usually mean
A squeal, a grind, a pull to one side, a soft or low pedal, a vibration when you stop, and a brake warning light are different complaints. They can involve pads, rotors, a caliper, a hose, fluid, or another hydraulic part. One of those is often the fault. Guessing which one from the noise alone replaces parts that were still working.
Bobby is ASE certified in brakes. We inspect, we say what we found, and the repair matches that result. A brake job aimed at the worn part is smaller than a brake job aimed at every part in the system. If the pull or the pedal feel turns out to be something other than the brakes, we say that too.
Why these two checks travel together
Oil and brakes are the items that strand a car, or make it unsafe, when they are put off. They are also the items a driver can feel or see before a breakdown: a light, a noise, a stain, a pedal that changed. Bringing the car in at that point keeps the visit in the range of a check and a targeted repair.
