Maintenance repairs in Hurricane

Maintenance repairs are the fixes that come out of regular upkeep, after we know what the vehicle actually needs. A service visit can uncover a leak, worn brakes, or a part that is ready to fail. The repair is aimed at that finding.

From a service visit to a real fix

Routine maintenance keeps a sound vehicle on the road. A maintenance repair starts when that visit, or a symptom you already feel, shows something that service alone will not solve. We separate the two so an oil change is not asked to stand in for a diagnosis.

Typical findings are straightforward: a leak that has a source, brakes that are down to the point of needing work, a belt or hose that has cracked, or a cooling system that is losing level. Each one gets identified. We explain what we found before parts are replaced.

Why guessing at the upkeep item costs more

Replacing a list of maintenance parts because the mileage is high can miss the part that is actually failing, and it spends the repair budget on pieces that were still doing their job. A car with a coolant smell needs the leak found. A car that pulls needs the brake or suspension fault found. The mileage is context. The test is the decision.

Bobby is ASE certified in brakes, engine performance, HVAC, and steering and suspension. Those credentials cover the systems a maintenance repair most often lands on. We service domestic, Asian, and most European vehicles, and we program most makes and models when the repair calls for it.

Shop hours and what to bring

We no longer offer mobile auto repair. Bring the vehicle to the Hurricane shop, 405 W 100 N, Unit D4, on a weekday between 9am and 5pm. If the car is not safe to drive, have it brought in. Describe the symptom and when it started.

If you are due for oil service at the same time, say so. We can look at the maintenance and the fault in one visit, and we will tell you which items are the repair and which items are upkeep.
