Car battery replacement in Hurricane

We confirm the battery is the problem, then replace it. A slow crank or a click can be the battery, a connection, or a charging system that is no longer keeping up. Swapping the battery on a hunch leaves that second fault in the car.

Symptoms that feel like a battery

A slow crank, a single click, dim lights, accessories that reset, and a battery warning light are the usual complaints. Heat in southern Utah shortens battery life, so a battery that struggled on a cold morning may have been fading all summer. Age matters. So does whether the car sits, and whether a light or an accessory stays on.

Those same symptoms show up when a cable is loose or corroded, or when the alternator is not charging. A new battery on a car that does not charge will fail again, and the no-start comes back. The test separates the battery from the system around it before we sell you a part.

What we do at the shop

Bring the vehicle in, or have it brought in if it will not start. We no longer offer mobile auto repair, including driveway battery swaps. The address is 405 W 100 N, Unit D4, Hurricane. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.

We test, we tell you what the test showed, and we replace the battery when the battery is the cause. On vehicles that require it, a battery replacement is one of the repairs that can call for programming so a module learns the new battery. We program most makes and models when the job needs that step.

When it is probably something else

A car that cranks strongly and still will not start is often past the battery. That complaint belongs in diagnostics: fuel, spark, a sensor, or a mechanical fault. A battery light that comes on while you are driving, with the engine still running, points at the charging system. Describe which of those you have so the first test is the right one.

If the battery tests fine and the car still misbehaves, we keep going until the fault is known. The goal is a repair that matches the failure, which is the same order we use on every other job in the shop.
